UNESCO estimates that there are more than 3 million wrecks on the seabeds of the seas and oceans. Finding and excavation of sunken ships and other large-size objects located under water is usually difficult, labour-intensive and requires specialised equipment and a team of specialists qualified in underwater works – divers, geologists and sapper divers. This is due to the onerous working conditions, poor visibility, depth of burial in the seabed and the type of object to be excavated, which is often bulky or ferromagnetic. UXO Marine has excavated many sunken vessels and oversized objects from the seabed over the years.
