Laying fascines and gabion baskets
UXO Marine performs projects related to the proper retrofitting of reservoir and river banks against scour or landslide.
STRENGTHENING OF BANKS BY FASCINING
Properly protecting the banks of bodies of water and rivers from collapse or landslide requires durable reinforcements and fascining expertise. UXO Marine builds reinforcements from pine stakes and branches along a designated line. The created structure, or fascine, driven into the ground, secures and seals the bank.
SETTING UP GABION BASKETS
UXO Marine constructs gabion segments on behalf of clients to reinforce slopes, earth embankments and banks of water bodies. Gabions, which are large cages or baskets in the form of cuboid with the volume of 0,25 to 4 m3, made of steel rods and mesh, filled with crushed stone or gravel, are an architectural element eagerly used in hydraulic engineering. Gabion baskets, set in an appropriate way, are an effective, massive and durable flood barrier, they regulate and control the course of rivers and lakes, they disperse sound waves, providing acoustic insulation.
